Dungeon World (again!) Session 1

Adam and Sage timed the release of a major update to the Red Book version of Dungeon World very well. The same day as our review, they put out an update that basically fixed every issue we had! That was actually several updates ago, and so we thought it’d be a good idea to come back to the new and improved Dungeon World. Here’s session 1 with Troll as the GM in our bronze-age homebrew world!

    Hi,

I don’t know where you accept suggestion for other APs. But after DW maybe you could try some sessions of Torchbearer RPG. With your MG experience it should be relative easy to start and could give the opportunity to compare both systems.

    Yup, it’s on the list!

I would have liked you folks to tackle a new game instead of returning to an old one, but I can’t complain too much–DW is way too fun to listen to.

  4. Kevin Weiser Says:

Yeah, normally we would (we have tons of new games planned!) but the weirdness with our old AP and review and how much DW changed meant we thought it deserved a 2nd visit. ALL of DW is already recorded, and we’re already moving on to our next game!

Out of interest, did you guys have a look at non-core playbooks before starting this? There’s a ton of free ones in the second post here: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3540201

Just crossed my mind when you were discussing how you wanted a more sorcerer-like class, because the Mage (found there or for sale on DTRPG) is a caster that improvises their spell effects based on a chosen focus – often a lot cooler in play than a wizard!

Oh man, first those terrible fucking accents in Pacific Rim and now you guys are having a go? Ease up on the Aussie bashing, dudes ; )

  7. Kevin Weiser Says:

There were Australian accents in Pacific Rim? :)

I don’t know what happened, but I listened via iTunes and it seems as though on my iPod the recording doubled up. No big deal other than disappointment that it wasn’t as long as I was expecting but I thought you might want to know.

There was a mistake in the first version we uploaded. We fixed it, sorry for the inconvenience to the early downloaders!
